Obiettivi formativi
L’insegnamento è finalizzato ad offrire una panoramica dello sviluppo storico della Psicologia, illustrando i vari periodi attraverso i quali esso si snoda: dalla psicologia filosofica, alla psicologia scientifica fino a giungere al contesto contemporaneo. Vengono in particolare descritti e discussi i più importanti paradigmi della psicologia scientifica dal 19° secolo a oggi. Di ciascun modello vengono analizzati i fondamenti concettuali, i risvolti epistemologici e metodologici e le applicazioni ad alcuni dei principali temi della disciplina.
The lecture aims to provide an overview of the historical development of psychology, illustrating the various periods through which it evolves, from the philosophical psychology to the scientific psychology, until it reaches the contemporary context. In particular, the most important paradigms of psychological science since the 19th century to the present will be presented and discussed. For each model we analyze the conceptual foundations, the epistemological and methodological implications and applications for some of the main issues of the discipline.

Alla fine dell'insegnamento, ci si aspetta che lo/la studente/ssa si sia formato una panoramica dello sviluppo storico della Psicologia per capire come è evoluto il concetto di psiche nel corso del tempo adeguandosi all'evolvere e modificarsi dei criteri di scientificità di volta in volta in auge.
Autonomia di giudizio
Ci si aspetta, in particolare, che sappia riflettere e confrontare i principi epistemologici su cui si sono basate e che caratterizzano le grandi scuole moderne: Strutturalismo, Funzionalismo, Gestalt, Riflessologia, Comportamentismo, Epistemologia Genetica, Psicoanalisi, Cognitivismo, Neuroscienze, e come da esse discendano i modi di operare attuali sia in ambito di ricerca che di intervento.
Abilità comunicative
Alla fine dell'insegnamento, lo/la studente/ssa dovrà:
- aver acquisito il vocabolario adeguato per presentare le diverse correnti di pensiero e posizioni teoriche esaminate;
- saper formulare concetti in modo chiaro.
Knowledge and understanding
At the end of the lecture, the student should be able to give an overview of the historical development of psychology, illustrating the various periods through which it evolves, from the philosophical psychology to the scientific psychology, until it reaches the contemporary context.Autonomy of judgement
In particular, the student should be able to compare the epistemological principles which characterize the great modern schools: Structuralism, Functionalism, Gestalt, Reflexology, Behaviorism, Genetic Epistemology, Psychoanalysis, Cognitivism, Neuroscience, and know their conceptual foundations, as well as their epistemological and methodological implications and applications.
Communication skills
At the end of the lecture, the student should:
- have acquired the appropriate vocabulary to present the different currents of thought and theoretical positions examined;
- knowing how to formulate concepts clearly.

Modalità di verifica dell'apprendimento
L'accertamento della preparazione avverrà attraverso un esame orale volto ad accertare l’apprendimento dello sviluppo storico della Psicologia, la capacità di confrontare i principi epistemologici su cui si sono basate le grandi scuole moderne, la conoscenza dei concetti principali introdotti dalle diverse scuole e l'uso di un linguaggio che rifletta questa conoscenza.
Gli studenti/Le studentesse avranno, inoltre, la possibilità di sostenere un esonero scritto con validità annuale. L’esonero sarà composto da 31 domande con risposte a scelta multipla e valutato in trentesimi. Alle risposte corrette sarà assegnato 1 punto, a quelle non date o sbagliate 0 punti. Qualora l’esonero fosse sufficiente (18/30), lo/la studente/ssa potrà accettare e verbalizzare il voto durante uno degli appelli senza dover sostenere la prova orale. Qualora la valutazione dell’esonero non fosse sufficiente, oppure lo/la studente/ssa non volesse accettarne il voto, l’accertamento dell’apprendimento avverrà in forma orale.
L'esame si fonderà sui testi di riferimento indicati, senza differenze fra studenti frequentanti e non frequentanti.
È possibile sostenere l’esame orale in lingua inglese.
The assessment of the preparation will take place through an oral exam aimed at ascertaining the learning of the historical development of Psychology, the ability to compare the epistemological principles on which the great modern schools are based, the knowledge of the main concepts introduced by these different schools and the use of a language that reflects this knowledge.
Students will also have the opportunity to take a written pre-test with annual validity. The test will be composed of 31 questions with multiple choice answers and evaluated in thirtieths. The correct answers will be assigned 1 point, to those not given or wrong 0 points. If the test is sufficient (18/30), the student can accept and record the grade during one of the exam sessions without having to take the oral exam. If the assessment of the written test is not sufficient, or the student does not want to accept the grade, the assessment of the learning will take place during the oral examù.
The exam will be based on the reference texts indicated, without differences between attending and non-attending students.
It is possible to take the oral exam in English.

La parte sull’Epistemologia Genetica sarà erogata dalla prof.ssa Schmidt, mentre il resto del programma sarà erogato dalla prof.ssa Tinti.
Analytical contents - Reflections on the concept of psyche in the different storical and cultural periods; the classical thought; the Middle Ages; the Renaissance; the birth of scientific psychology in the nineteenth century; the great modern schools: Structuralism, Functionalism, Gestalt, Reflexology, Behaviorism, Genetic Epistemology, Psychoanalysis, Cognitivism, Neuroscience.
The part on Genetic Epistemology will be held by Prof. Schmidt, while the rest of the program will be held by prof. Tinti.
